Born in 1782, died in 1855. Son of George Evick, founder of Franklin. Adam was a gunsmith
from the early 1800s until his death. Until about 1835 he made flintlock Kentucky rifles
with tiger stripe maple stock and brass patchboxes. His patchbox style "four petal
flower" were typical of the Valley of Virginia. Most when not all vere engraved.
His later production was made with percussion locks. His guns were marked A.E.
on the top of the barrel.
His sons, John and William worked as gunsmith. They continued Adam's pattern guns.
